Kai-Uwe Barani Schmidt joined the UNFCCC Secretariat in January 1995 and manages the work on the Clean Development Mechanisms of the UN Climate Change secretariat in his function of secretary to the CDM Executive Board, including the support to the Board’s panel and working groups, related experts and the development and maintenance of UNFCCC CDM information system. He is also in charge of the CDM registry. In his managing role, he leads a fast-growing team which provides process, administrative and substantive support in all areas of CDM-related work.
The Honourable Penelope BecklesMinister of Public Utilities and the Environment
The Honourable Penelope Beckles is the Member of Parliament for the constituency of Arima and Minister of Public Utilities and the Environment. Prior to her appointment at her present Ministry in November 2003, she served as Minister of Culture and Tourism and Minister of Social Development. She is the first female Minister of the Environment.
Ms. Beckles is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Hugh Wooding Law School and is an Attorney at Law by profession.
Ms. Beckles is deeply committed to ensuring the highest quality of life for the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago through the provision of superior public utilities and environmental management services and works tirelessly in pursuit of this goal, exemplifying the dedication and professionalism she expects from officers in the Ministry and agencies within her portfolio.
Kishan Kumarsingh
Environmental Programme Officer, EMA
Kishan Kumarsingh is the current Chairman of the Cabinet appointed Working Group to Determine the implications of Global Warming, Climate Change and Sea Level Rise. He has been involved in international climate change negotiations for the last 10 years as a delegate of T&T and coordinated issues on behalf of the Group of 77 and China as well as the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS).
In the past he was Vice Chair and Chair of the Expert Group on Technology Transfer under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). At present , he is Chairman of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice to the UNFCCC and Project Manager for T&T's Initial and Second National Communication to the UNFCCC.
He has written international papers on technology needs assessments and issues related to small island developing states; lectured on international climate change policy under the climate change management and impacts module at UWI; and has been involved in the development of the CDM after Kyoto in 1997.

Fiona Santokie
Head of Renewable Energy Markets, Natsource Europe Ltd
Fiona Santokie, Head of Renewables Markets, joined Natsource’s London office in January 2001 and has conducted extensive research into the European green certificate markets and renewable energy policy development. She has focused on the development of the European renewable energy markets, and has structured and transacted significant volumes of ROCs (Renewables Obligation Certificates) and several TWhs of LEC (Levy Exemption Certificates). She has also transacted numerous trades in the UK and EU Emissions trading scheme and is currently working with project developers to develop within the CDM market.
Enric Arderiu
Senior Client Manager, Ecosecurities Group Ltd
Enric Arderiu joined EcoSecurities as a Senior Originator in January 2006, and was appointed as Coordinator for Origination Activities in North Africa, the Middle East, Mexico and Central America. Previously, Mr Arderiu worked in EcoSecurities as a Business Analyst from September 2005 to December 2005. Mr Arderiu’s current role as a Senior Client Manager at EcoSecurities mainly focuses on business development activities, identification of CDM opportunities and negotiation of contracts. Projects he has been involved in include landfills, renewable energy, waste water and waste heat recovery.
Jorge Barrigh
Managing Director Transaction Services, Latin America & Caribbean Natsource LLC
Jorge Barrigh leads Natsource’s activities in Latin America and the Caribbean and is based in Panama City, Panama. He has over 15 years of experience in the private and development finance sectors dealing with the emission offset, equity investment and financing of energy and environment projects. Prior to his appointment by Natsource, Mr. Barrigh led a regional carbon programme for a multilateral development bank based in Venezuela, and held Business, Financial & Project Development positions in US and Canadian based energy & technology firms.
Dave HardyVice-President and Director, Guyana Hydropower Project
A respected Canadian social entrepreneur, Dave Hardy is President of Hardy Stevenson and Associates Limited, CEO of Hetti Development Group Limited and has worked on a range of major energy infrastructure and community projects across Canada. He has also served in a number of senior positions in Ontario Hydro, formerly Canada’s largest public utility, and as President of the Conservation Council of Ontario.
Hannah Wei-Muddeen

Hannah Wei-Mudden is the Group Health, Safety and Environment Manager of TCL Group, cement manufacturers with operations in Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and Guyana. Ms Wei-Mudden's portfolio covers all of the Group's operations.
Eden Shand
Managing Director, Environmental Management and Planning Associates Ltd
Eden Shand is a well known environmentalist in Trinidad and the region. He was formerly a Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs of the GoTT. He is presently Managing Director of Environmental Management and Planning Associates Ltd and President of the Tropical Re-Leaf Foundation.
